The hypothesis is that, since what is considered romantic or not is highly subjective and depending on the constructs one adopts, and since all the parties involved in a bond can choose to reject the constructs anyway, romantic vs non-romantic is an arbitrary label serving no purpose as it isn’t actually informative without a lot of context. Therefore, it isn’t a meaningful concept. They’re not alloromantic, but they’re not aromantic either. They’re not in the romantic-aromantic spectrum because to them, the idea of a romantic spectrum is already empty and devoid of meaning in the first place. Hence the prefix nihilo- implying “null” or “empty”.
