Originating from the days when business and membership cards were a greater definition of who you were; i.e., membership card of the NRA or democratic/republican party.

carry-on

A carry-on is when you, and others if you like, go out drinking on say a friday night and you roll in to the next day and even the next night still getting on it, whether it a drug fuelled binge or a alcohol binge, both are classed as a carry-on.

Carry-ons (if your hardcore) can last for several days.

Dave: 'lisshen Steve, It'z 2pm now and weeez gotta meet Leo at the pub at 6pm so we may aswell do a carry-on.'

carry on

A series of knockabout comedy films made in England and aimed at parochial audiences, but which gathered a worldwide cult following among Anglophile comedy fans. Thirty films were made between 1958 and 1978 (1992's 'Carry On Columbus' was a misguided attempt at reviving the brand for a modern audience, and is best forgotten) and featured a core cast of regulars, including Sidney James, Charles Hawtrey, Kenneth Connor, Kenneth Williams, Bernard Bresslaw and Peter Butterworth. The best series instalments are generally thought to be Carry On Cleo, Carry On Camping, Carry On Up the Khyber and Carry On At Your Convenience, whilst the worst are usually cited (not without good reason) as Carry On Jack, Carry On England and Carry On Emmannuelle. The series lives on through DVD releases, edited compilations and a strong internet presence.

Charty: A charty can be defined as a party hosted by a char student that incorperates as much possible fail, ed hardy and gay as physically possible without causing enough angular momentum to generate a black hole resulting in the earth to implode on itself and everyone on the planet to endure a painfully gay death
