Someone who takes an organization, event or something large that is broken and repairs it and makes it work again, and in many cases, profitable and beyond successful. A turnaround artist can be anyone who runs an organization, from a CEO to a President of an organization to any form of a head.
The Salt Lake City Olympic games were on the fritz until Mitt Romney came along as the CEO of the organizing committee and Romney ensured that the games made a profit and ran smoothly, earning him the title of a "turnaround artist". Another turnaround artist would be Lee Iacocca, who worked to make Chrysler profitable in the 1980's and 1990's.

Named after Wall Street fraudster Bernie Madoff, the man who set a world record for the biggest Ponzi Scheme of $65,000,000,000 and got 150 years in Federal Prison in Butner North Carolina. A Madoff Artist offers to invest your money and promises you 12.5% return on your investments with no risks. It looks good on paper, but he doesn't make investments with any other trading firm and just gives you other "investors'" money. A Madoff Artists keeps his Ponzi Scheme going until there is no more money and the well dries up. When the well dries up that's when the Madoff Artists has no more money to return and people ask for their money to be returned. The scam falls apart and the Madoff Artist get arrested, charged with securities fraud, pleas guilty or takes his chances in court, convicted, and sent to Federal prison.

Get the Language Artistmug. Iron Artist is the name of a challenge for artists that typically entails that the artist create art every so often for a set period of time decided by the artist. There is no "exact" way to do the challenge, but the general gist of it is that "art is made every ___ for ___ long."
