Cutting

Cutting is something no one should do for attention. It ridicules the lives of people who actually struggle and want a way out of life because they only see darkness ahead of them. These people cut for many reasons. Examples include a) to take mental suffering and make it physical, and b) to see if they still feel pain. There are many other reasons why cutters cut, but unfortunately, this can often turn into an addiction. You want to feel MORE and MORE pain and see several more cuts each session, and it becomes a vicious cycle. Personally, getting out of cutting was easily one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I kept on cutting because I hated myself, wanted to be dead, I thought no one cared about me and that no one ever would, etc. I thought there was no hope in the world for me to be okay. But when you see the light at the end of the tunnel and chase it, and eventually walk out of said tunnel, you’ll feel better. Remember: you’ll always be able to find hope. And if, by chance, you can’t find it, you’re not looking hard enough. In the meantime, focus on something positive you’d like to accomplish. Maybe there’s a video game you’ve wanted to beat for a while. Or a new language that you’ve always wanted to learn. Or finally taking up that painting class.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, you can always call either Kids Help Phone, your country’s Suicide Hotline, or the Trevor Project if you’re LGBTQIA+. Or, you can talk to a trusted adult or friend.
“Emo” Teen 1: “Hey everyone! Look at my fresh cuts!”
Teen 2: “ET1, there are a large number of people in the world that are actually struggling out there, unlike you. People who engage in cutting because they think there’s no way out. I’ve seen you enjoying yourself out with your friends and family, and having good self confidence. Stop.”

I didn’t come here for a hair cut

The Australian saying “I didn’t come here for a haircut” is used to express that someone is there for a specific purpose and not to waste time. It’s often said in a straightforward or humorous way to emphasize that they expect action or results.

For example, if someone walks into a bar and orders a beer but the bartender is slow to serve, they might say, “Mate, I didn’t come here for a haircut.” In this case, it means they came for a drink, not to stand around waiting.

It’s similar to saying, “Let’s get on with it,” or “I’m here for business, not for small talk.”
