Someone you met at work and have to regard as a friend - but it stops there. You have to like them, you can’t avoid it. However outside of work they are complete fucking tools who you wouldn’t piss on if they were in fire. Cretins at the best of times, industrial friends are bellends you want to punch in the eye to remind them that actually, you do not like them under any circumstances.

Friends in Denial

A relationship between a guy and a girl which has clearly gone far beyond the level of being friends. They text, video chat, hang out, go out together, make out, have been to bed together at least once (most likely they do it all the time....The Sex part). Their feelings for each other are obvious but one party is in denial (most of the time it is the girl) and says their just ‘friends’ but it’s clear to everyone that they are not.

Girl 1: “Hey Nainika, I hear that you and Rishi are together now”

Nainika: “No. We are just friends”

Girl 2: *whispers to girl 1* “They are friends in denial. She always denying it but they are always together, one time a guy walked in on them doing it in the students room.”

Trench Friend

A friend who you both enjoy each other's company and keep each other happy, but you both don't expect the friendship to last long. You both, however, always have each other's back and never back from a fight together. Considering how ugly trench warfare was, any friendships made were often broken by illness, artillery, gas, or gunfire. (never used during those times)
