group think

A subtle influence on a highly self-regarding and insular discussion group that deludes them into agreeing to dubious assumptions and plans on the basis that everyone else seemed to think it was a good idea... or at least no one wanted to be the one to speak up in dissent.

It mentally shortcuts past the process of examining risks and alternatives, assuming that of course the others have taken them into due consideration.

The Bay of Pigs invasion is often cited as a disasterous example of group think; how could the "best and the brightest" engineered such a fiasco?

Free Thinker

A philosophical viewpoint that opinions or beliefs of reality should be based on science, logic and reason. Ideas should not be derived from religion, authority, governments or dogmas.

A free thinker should not reject nor accept any proposed truths of organized religion, established norms, media, etc. They should determine if the belief is valid based on their own knowledge, intuition, research and reason. Just because other people believe in it, doesn't mean it's right! Use your own judgment and think critically!

Thanksgiving

That day where your relatives come over. The relatives are usually split into 2 groups. The adults usually sit in the living room and get into fights about politics and get mad is you interrupt their “really important” conversation.
The kids go upstairs and either whine because they think they have the right to all your things just because they’re guests, or the teenagers stick their butts in your house and think they’re the boss because they’re “ThE OlDeSt”.
when it is time for food, your adult relatives are all up in your business, or forgot you were born. When it is time to leave, your parents expect you to go and clean up everybody’s freaking mess. then they go and start hounding you on if that cousin you saw once is now your new best friend.

“Dude, are you excited for thanksgiving?”
No, my teenage cousins are coming to our house.”

Danish Thanksgiving

A sexual act involving filling a woman's anus with danish cream filling via a turkey baster, then two or more males engage in sexual intercourse with said anus. Afterwards, everyone eats the danish cream filling, hence the "thanksgiving".

Baltzer: "So I was at my friend Sigmund's house with some other guys and this freaky chick Adelina let us do a Danish thanksgiving on her!"
