Pokemon
Means "monster in a ball" (from what a japanese exchange student told me). It is in the form of video game and anime. People used trade pokemon cards as well until they were banned at my school.
I don't really care for pokemon and when it was on tv in 1999 and beyond, I vaguely followed the storyline as a 6 year old child. But my brother loved it.
