How idiots spell "noob". Said idiots either can't spell or forget that a "nub" is what is left after an amputation. This error can be attributed to the fact that most people under the age of 20 seem to be incapable of spelling the simplest of words correctly - probably due to overuse of auto-correct/spell-check doing it for them.

Get the nubsmug. Common gaming lingo that seeped onto other cybersocial venues such as forums and myspace'ish sites. It is used as shorthand and synonymously with noob / newb / noobie.
While many will go on a long diatrabe about how there is a difference between noob / newb / nub / noober / nubber / noobski, they are all the one and the same and only a soccer mom with far too much time and little to do would sit around and try to analyze the non existant grammar of a 14 year old gamer slang.

Get the nubmug. 1. A small amount of something, generally used to refer to weed. A small amount of weed that is less than a nickel bag amount; it is enough to get somewhat faded but not stoned.
2. A person who lacks skills in a game; generally due to the fact that they have only just begun to play the game or they just really suck. However the word has spread from outside the gamer world; it can also now be used in everyday society describing the lack of skills someone has in their jobs or whatever they partake in.
