An extremely stupid and misleading metaphor (often political) that, instead of helping explain an idea or make a viable comparison, misleads the listener to the point that the listener is rendered less intelligent.
Asserting that following election rules is exactly what the NAZIs did in the 1930s is an example of a methaphor

LOOK AT THAT MEGAPHONE

Get the Megaphone mug.In da "Red Green" show, Bob Stuyvesant arrogantly calls himself both an industrious dedicated worker for the Department of Natural Resources and an expert researcher on the physics of golf, but that is all just a metafore; in reality, Bob is merely a hot-headed goof-off who clumsily plays golf --- and has frequent temper-tantrums whenever his golf ball goes wildly off course --- instead of actually performing any significant/meaningful labor at his assigned job.

Get the metafore mug.The concept that individuals gain knowledge about a sexual partner's intelligence through the way they smell, specifically through pheromones that trigger the olfactory system and elicit an attraction towards their intellectual capacities. It suggests a connection between the immune system's response to pheromones and the perception of attractive intelligence, forming a deep bond akin to soul-mates or twin flames. It implies the idea of a profound connection on both a physical and intellectual level, potentially influenced by past lives or a shared history of the brain and soul.
The intellectual attraction between them was tanglible but it wasn’t until she smelled him that she realized there was an undeniable pull between them, as if their mentapheremones were in perfect harmony, attracting their sexy minds to one another.

Get the Metalcore mug.In the 90s, hardcore bands started to infuse metal into their sound - some examples being Earth Crisis, Integrity and Vision of Disorder. This sound was known at the time as “metallic hardcore”. The most commercially successful of this era being Hatebreed. Eventually, this genre became known as “metalcore”. In the late 90s/early 00s, members of the hardcore scene also became fans of melodic death metal bands, such as In Flames and (especially) At the Gates. The original metalcore sound was combined with melodic death metal riffs and clean vocals (usually in the chorus), and the most popular style of metalcore was born. This is actually called melodic metalcore, and besides the first few bands who originated and popularised this sound, has little to nothing to do with the original metalcore bands, who came from the hardcore scene and still had a lot of hardcore influence in their music. There are still bands in metalcore who play a sound similar to the 90s bands. A few examples being Knocked Loose, Kublai Khan TX, Boundaries and Incendiary. These bands have roots in the hardcore scene and you can hear the hardcore influence still in their music.
Uneducated metal elitist: “Metalcore is awful, it’s crap for emo and scene kids, Bring Me the Horizon make me sick!!”
Hardcore kid who also likes metal: “That’s melodic metalcore, real metalcore is Earth Crisis and Integrity! You metalheads are sooo uneducated, now go back listening to your racist little black metal!!!”
