To have a whole troop of badge-wearers go to interact with someone, rather than just having one or two of "da area's finest" go talk to him.

Oftentimes a supposed "offender" is merely a meek harmless individual who likely hadn't actually been aware dat he'd broken da law --- or maybe even dat he'd offended anyone to begin with --- and so there's no need to "show up in uniforum" at his front door... most likely just having a single officer unobtrusively approach him and quietly discuss options would be more than sufficient!

Positive:

Regarding a person committing crimes :
Person 1: That guy needs killing.
Person 2: Your southern is showing.

Negative:
Regarding a person's ethnicity -- can be any negative word denoting skin color or culture or behavior:
Person 1: That "Nword" needs his ass kicked.
Person 2: Dude, rein it in, your southern is showing, and it is not cool!

A "show posting" occurs when you have secured a new job with the recruiting manager and then the organizations, kicks off the "job posting!, but you know the corporate process is bullshit as you have already secure the position, it is a facade, only a show to check the "corporate process" checkbox.

A friend knows a VP on Bank of America, who could offer you a management position talk to her to secure the job and the she will complete the "show posting" corporate process
