1. A bizarre, often improbable "theory" about something; it can be anything.
2. A pejorative term used to dismiss people who see through the federal government's bullshit.

An example of a conspiracy theory is the belief that Paul McCartney died in a car accident at the height of the Beatles' fame and was replaced with a "lookalike" who has lived a double-life ever since. It's bizarre because no one has definitive evidence aside from a lot of cryptic lyrics in the Beatles' 1967-1970 songs, and improbable because birth records show that Paul McCartney is very much alive as of December 2022, there is no evidence of him having a twin brother (he DOES have a brother, named Peter, but he is 1.5 years younger), and if he was actually replaced by a lookalike, it probably wouldn't take nearly 60 years to find out. Not to mention, the "real" Paul would have been declared dead in absentia if this was correct, but no such ruling has been given.
Nowadays, as mentioned above, the term is often used to dismiss people who don't believe a word the government says.

The theory that states that Wyoming isn't a state. This theory holds ground because:
A)You most likely have never been to Wyoming.
B)You don't know anybody who is from Wyoming.
C)You don't watch television shows that take place in Wyoming.
D)You don't buy products from companies based in Wyoming.
But what is in that part of the country? A government conspiracy? The Illuminati headquarters? A tear in the Space-Time Continuum? Open your eyes.

A complex theory of physics that basically says the entire universe is made up of cosmic rubber bands.
For an explanation that the common man may understand, read "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene

unattractive people will take photos from various angles to give the illusions of looking better than they actually appear. Common in dating sites, as well as social networking sites such as nexopia, facebook, myspace.
The angly theory is used mostly by fat chicks. High angles give the illusion of height, and reduce the apperance of fat. When meeting someone from the net, always ask for multiple pictures.
remember: girls in photos are fatter than they appear

A deranged, hour long, conspiracy theory about the show SpongeBob SquarePants. That connects a series of loosely related Visual gags into one over arching “skin theory” that encompasses the entire show. Skin theory was created by an unknown YouTuber by the name of Doug Woolever in 2020 and then dramatically promoted by the mysterious YouTube algorithm for no apparent reason. Some say it’s a satirical take down of other media conspiracy shows on the platform or just commentary on YouTube conspiracies in general. But to this day the true purpose of skin theory remains unknown.
