Can refer to a few things but it is mainly known in the meme community as ironically whipping at terminal velocity. The term is very popular with deep fried memes in particular.

"Yall mind if I hit that YEET" *whipping intensifies* or "oh look he is hitting some fat ol' yeets"

"Yeet" is used when throwing an object the same way as "Kobe". However where Kobe is used for accuracy, yeet is used for distance.
