Green Day
Green Day is a band that people either love or hate. It is a piece-of-crap poser band formed in California. Although they have one or two decent songs (i.e. Good Riddance, Basket Case), most of their tracks would be considered throwaways if made by any other artist. Although his vocals are half-decent, Billie Joe Armstrong needs to take some guitar lessons, because his playing is very sub-par. He doesn't have a single good or difficult guitar solo. Although the drumming is good, it is the only part of the band that can be described that way. If you want good rock, try listening to bands like AC/DC or the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Angus Young and John Frusciante, among the greatest guitarists in history, can play their instruments like the true professionals they are. And they don't wear mascara.
American Idiot (although many Green Day fans admit this themselves) is a terrible song, and although the message is a good one, the musicianship is that of a band not yet out of the garage.
