Anonymous

Anonymous is a loose, decentralized collective of hackers/activists (hacktivists) born from the dark corner of the internet on the website known as 4chan (message board). Anonymous started out as a group in it just for the Lulz (lol's) but grew quickly into the activism world when they started an operation against the religion of Scientology. The group fights against censorship primarily dealing with the web and have fought to preserve individual privacy/anonymity. They have also been tied to the Occupy Wall Street and Wikileaks movements. Currently, Anonymous has developed into a focal point for internet security and civil rights while fighting against 'oppressive' governments.
