EDS results in people dismissing Edith's clear character faults and borderline antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) because they empathize with the character to a harmful level. It is an extreme and often imagined form of middle-child syndrome.
We tried to have a rational conversation on an episode of Downton Abbey but a person suffering from Edith Derangement Syndrome (EDS) prevented this by dismissing whole cloth her clearly immoral actions because someone didn't give her enough attention.
