State Care Workers (SWC's)

A term first coined by Martin Keatings in his 2011 paper "Fundamental reformation of societal norms for state care workers".

An alternate and less pejorative terminology for "unpaid carers", recognising unpaid carers as a vital part of the health and social care workforce.

The only way to combat this stigma is to make individuals, who are State Care Workers (SWC's), indistinguishable from their private and public sector counterparts.
