Friendzone

A situation in which a person becomes the friend of someone they wanted a romantic relationship with. This will generally last for a while, or maybe forever.

"I asked Nicole on a date yesterday, and she put me in the friendzone!" Mark exclaimed.

"I like you, Amy, but only as a friend." Aaron explained to a very distraught Amy. She looked at him in horror.
"You mean... I'm in the friendzone?"

On social networking sites, facebook in particular, when you have a large amount of mutual friends with someone, and there is a huge amount of tension to add them to your friends list, even if you don't know them. They could even be an ex, which is creepier.

Friendmenship

When you like someone a little more than just a friend, but a little less than a relationship. Kind of like friendship limbo. Put simply, a really shitty position to be in.
