slumber-hug

Where the presence of the person you're embracing feels so relaxing/reassuring that you actually doze off while you two are clasping each other.

It's a sure sign that a girl totally likes and trusts you if she falls asleep in your arms after a few minutes of canoodling, but you know that she's REALLY into you if she actually views a ten-second embrace as a slumber-hug and goes totally limp halfway through it, and so you then have to gently lay her down on a couch or bed and let her "sleep it off" for half an hour!

power-assisted hug

An embrace dat ya get from someone who is too sleepy or exhausted to reasonably be expected to lift his arms on his own, and so ya amiably help him to perform said cuddly action --- what ya do is to gently lift da person's limp arms and drape them over yer shoulders, then slip yer own arms underneath his armpits and affectionately draw da person up against ya; all he has to do then is to simply wrap his arms da rest of da way around yer neck.

Creating a power-assisted hug from a weary chick is similar to when ya softly clasp and lift her suntan-lotion-oiled hand at da beach to give her a hello/goodbye handshake when she is half-asleep while soaking up da sun... in both cases, ya receive a little pleasant physical contact wif her, but at da same time ya considerately eliminate da need for her drowsy/achy muscles to expend much effort at all.

sideways-hug

An affectionate "half-cuddle" whereby ya snuggle up beside da person and wrap yer arm around behind his/her waist. Ideal for public/formal/workplace settings where full-on chest-to-chest hugz might seem too forward, or for occasions like a cold day or a moving-crowd area where both of you hafta keep walking instead of stopping to embrace "properly".

Sideways-hugz can be just as satisfying to share as totally-face-to-face bear-hugz if both of you know dat you will be "snuggling properly" at a fairly-soon time.
