Essentially synonymous with girlfriend. Used because its not age specific, sounds slightly classier.

"So, how's your ladyfriend been doing, Frank?"
"Oh, Sarah is fine."

Half-Friend

Someone you're friends with, but you do not hang out with or get together with. This can also mean someone you talk to at school, whose phone number you don't have or someone you just TALK TO (and do nothing else with each other). More like an advanced acquaintances.

"Yo that guy Rico is my homie"
"No, he's just your half-friend, since you don't ever hang out. You don't even got his phone number!"
"Yeah, all we do is just talk sometimes.

Schrodinger's Friend

When you're into someone, but you're not sure if you're just close friends or taking it slow. This is especially common among lesbians in cultures where women are expected to have intimate friendships, and among gay men in cultures where men are expected to have the more intimate friendships.

P1: So are you and Jessica going out? And don't lie to me, I saw you two making out earlier.
P2: I don't know, I mean it could have been a kiss between friends.
P1: Friends don't kiss with tongue, this is very much not a Schrodinger's Friend situation.

Jan: No....I was with Fran; she's my chicken friend. We went to Applebee's.

Gayfraid Friend

A person that claims to have gay friends that they are totally open, approving and accepting of. Yet still possesses an intolerant attitude towards gay rights.

Sarah: It's totally ok to have friends that are gay, and we can hang out, but seriously why do they think they need the same rights as everyone else. Why do they keep asking for more, haven't they got enough?

Heather: Doesn't that make you a gayfraid friend?
