DisCon

DisCon (short for disorderly conduct) is, in many countries, a criminal violation which can be used to legally arrest someone.

In the United States, laws vary by state, but common examples of DisCon include:

(1) fighting,
(2) making an unreasonable amount noise and continuing to do so after being asked to stop,
(3) disrupting a lawful assembly of persons,
(4) conduct that is likely to result in serious bodily injury to a person,
(5) conduct that is likely to result in serious damage to property.
In most cases, DisCon is a misdemeanor, but in certain special situations, like deliberately disrupting a funeral, it can be a felony.

disconnectivity

The ultimate lure of electronic toys, is to simply not care about them anymore! I got this new word from the Monday, Jan 25, 2010 "Cathy" newspaper comic strip, where her husband says "Financial tools...organizational tools...networking tools...writing tools...scheduling tools.." and "With my new phone, the clutter of our lives is finally getting under control!" and Cathy says,"You've had your new phone for a week. How is the clutter more under control?", and he says" I don't care about it anymore." and Cathy thinks in a thought baloon, "Ah...the ultimate lure: disconnectivity."
He was so electronically and technically advanced, that he tired of it all, and embraced disconnectivity.

Cultural disconnection

When people assume their way of doing things goes-without-saying, like that Christmas is necessarily in December (or in January) or that everyone celebrates Christmas, and which assumption, in-turn, leads to social isolation.
-- So glad you could finally come to our party this year.

-- Yeah, it took some getting-used-to...first Christmas, and then...Christmas-in-January.

-- What did you think we were celebrating on January 6?

-- I read that that's when Jesus traditionally got circumcised.

-- So that's what you thought today was about? I think you may be experiencing cultural disconnection.

-- Just as long as that's the only disconnection I end-up experiencing.
