The name derives from the area holding one of the biggest nuclear test sites. You can really see the effects on Bombala, from the radiation poisoning affecting the community, to how the area is laid out, like how the Anzac memorial statue is located in Bombala's busiest highway, or the local pool with its origins going all the way back to 50 BC.
