A technique used to gain support or sympathy to their position during a conversation by way of speaking loudly so others within close proximity can overhear their one-sided conversation.

She is loud talking on her cell phone so you will feel sorry for her.

A way to secretly tell a person that you are having sex. If you don't want your parents to know who you are sleeping with, just tell them that you are just talking.

"Are you sleeping with that person?"
"We are just talking."
