Nirvana is actually a word used in Buddhsm that means a state of bliss and tranquility. The band Nirvana, started off in Washington in 1987, but ended on April 5th, 1994, when the lead singer, Kurt Cobain, was killed. Rumor has it that it was a planned murder by his wife Courtney Love, considering that his suicide note was not in his handwritting and he had way too much heroin in his system to use a gun correctly. Plus the gun was wiped clean of all fingerprints. How would a dead guy do that? God Bless Kurt Cobain.

Nirvana is the best band ever created, and who would of thought they would be catagorized as "grundge".

One of the most ovverated bands ever. they suck. get over it. They were put out by MTV as just another fad. Everyone who says Kurt No-Brain was a good guitar player should shut their fuckin' mouths and go listen to Yngwie. their sound was not helped by No-brain's so-called "singing", which was actually a drunken moan. they provided half of the influence for mallcore(the other half being rap). The only musician among them was Dave Grohl. although most nirvana fans will agree when I say that Courtney love should BURN IN HELL!!!!

1: A state of religious bliss that is held in belief by Indian religions.

2: A band that was quite good, but is terribly overrated. The lead singer, Kurt Cobain is often undeservingly held in the same esteem as Hendrix, Clapton and Jesus in regards to greatness. Cobain eventually proceeded to stick a shotgun in his mouth and blow his head off after becoming amazingly popular and wealthy.

great band whose best album WASN'T Nevermind, In Utero, or Unplugged. It was Bleach, sons. That raw grunge-metal sound was never present on their later albums. But it's all good.
