"Walla" is the French Canadian pronunciation of of the French word "voilà"--a regional pronunciation that trickled down into the States because the two countries share a border.
To chalk it up to a "stupid American" pronunciation because (paraphrased) "Americans can't pronounce anything not English--and barely that" is a flat out display of ignorance and a glaring lack of diligent research; it's quite possibly an ironic display of one's own "stupidity".

For your information, "retarded American", walla is an actual word. It is on the Scripps National Spelling Bee school spelling bee word list for the 8th grade, and you can look that up right now. Yes, you were just roasted by a 7th grader. But the actual definition is, "A person who is associated with a particular type of work or who performs a specific duty or service." If you're going to make fun of someone, at least check your facts first; if you're not going to you end up sounding stupid.
