Realist

Realists believe that reality is completely ontologically independent of our conceptual schemes, linguistic practices, beliefs and our perception.

Those who profess realism, also believe that truth consists in a belief's correspondence to reality. We may speak of realism with respect to other minds, the past, the future, universals, mathematical entities, moral categories, the material world, or even thought.

Realists further believe that whatever we believe now is only an approximation of reality and that every new observation brings us closer to understanding reality. Realists also believe that a common understanding of reality brings peace and is the basis for morality.

Realists are members of The Realist Society of Canada and read the Conscientia.

Realist

A realist (by definition) is a person completey unbiased. Something we should all stride for. There are people that are so biased that literaly nothing can sway there way of thinking. If they think the sky is green god himself couldn't make them think any differently. Unfortunately nobody on earth is a full realist because we all have some level of bias. But we should always stride to be as close to reality as possible.

A realist see things as they are with zero bias and deal with the situation as is.
Some people see a glass half emty or half full, a realist sees a glass that has a milk level perfectly between the top of the glass to the bottom.

Realist

Someone who knows that the SHTF is enevitable although it is unknown when this is going to take place. Realists can often be identified by their gear, it's usually simple yet effective. Examples of realist gear are MRE's, practical firearms, tents, lanterns, Etc.

Liberal Dumbass: Gee Mr. Realist why do you need guns? The government can take care of you. Plus guns are dangerous and only crazies have guns.

Realist

A pessimist in denial. Someone with an overwhelmingly negative view of the world and the future, but does not want the stigma associated with being called a pessimist, so they claim to view the world as it "really" is. Of course, in the eyes of the realist, it's never "really" good, it always "really" sucks.

Person A: You know, I hate people, the future sucks, life sucks and then you die. Might as well off myself right now.
Person B: Wow, you're a real pessimist!
Person A: I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist.

Realist

Another word for "I'm a stuck up asshole." Usually used to emphasize someone's non involvement in something as well.

Person 1: I think defenses should try and take Tom Brady out of the game

Person 2: No, nobody can even get to Brady because the patriots are so great. I'm not a Patriots fan either. I'm just a realist.
