Actually this term was defined when my friend left his hamburger on the table and left the room while we were watching a show on Poaching. I then took it, bit it, and said hah poached. From then on it expanded.
If you had a great meal you were poaching. If you stole a seat,girl,meal, whatever, you poached it.If you planned on going to relax then you were going to poach. The term quickly spread through my friends who then moved out of NY spreading it even faster. This was over 11 yrs ago.
