A shorting for Newfoundlander. Newfoundland is the most eastern province in Canada. Newfies speak Newfoundland English which is a mix of several accents and dialects of English. But remember some Newfoundlanders don't like being called Newfies by Americans or sometimes other Canadians.

A person who lives in Newfoundland, usually goes by the name of Brandon, this Brandon character, is in denial about talking like a "newfie" even though we know that he probably sounds like an alien to the people who live on the westcoast. But, newfies are loved, always. <3
