“Kpoppies” or “Kpoppie” was created by the BTS fandom known as A.R.M.Y in 2018 to separate themselves form the Kpop community. Over the years it was adopted by other Kpop fandoms.

Kpoppies tend to be BTS and/or BLACKPINK stans as these are the two groups representing K-Pop to the West and are the most popular K-Pop groups by far. They treat these two groups as God’s gift to humanity and trash pretty much any other group/artists that came before and after them, even if said groups/artists are K-Pop veterans, e.g. SHINee and Girls’ Generation.
