infobaiting

To lure people into becoming obsessed over something pointless by dangling information about it in front of them, appealing to their need to find out more (see infobating).
People would never have even heard of the Kardashians if the tabloids didn't keep infobaiting them.

I can't stop reading TVTropes, every article keeps infobaiting me into the next one!

infomaxing

The art of maximizing your information flow by letting your curiosity lead the way. It is a method that combines different elements from "Just-In-Time (JIT) Learning", "Mind Mapping", "Self-Directed Learning (SDL)", and "The Feynman Technique". This technique is a self-directed learning strategy driven by intrinsic motivation and associative reasoning. The learner follows their curiosity through a nonlinear path of inquiry, investigating related topics and foundational concepts in the moment they are encountered. Not to confuse with "infomax" a concept in machine learning.
