Grandpa's in hospice care now, but he's totally out of it. I'd put him to sleep if he were a cat.

Hospice care kid

An adult child who is expected to care for their deadbeat parent(s) at the end of their life/lives when said deadbeat parent(s) didn't take care of their now adult child(ren) when they were young and needed a parent(s).

Adult child: "I can't believe that I'm forty and my deadbeat dad is finally in my life, but only because he expects me to be his hospice care kid and financially care for him in his old age. Where was he when me and my siblings were young and needed a father?"

Playing Hospice

v. When all you can do all day long is lay on the couch, unshowered, in the same underwear you dribbled on the night before, in sweatpants, and eat and watch television all day long. You do not have the energy to get up to anything that doesn't involve making or eating food; even a shower is just too taxing. A pull out couch or futon is usually involved, as well as lots of pillows and blankets. Closely related to "Big Fat Fuck-a-Thon".

"I'm so hungover! All I am doing today is playing hospice! Let's order pizza, but you've got to go to the door, I'm dying."
