A fake artist, one who’s public relations and media hype far exceed their talent. Classic fartist would be Andy Warhol or Jakson Pollack. A contemporary fartist would be Taylor Swift, little talent, no singing voice, but a lot of publicity hype.
We paid big money for 2 tickets in the balcony and after 10 minutes on stage it was obvious the guy was a fartist. All hype, no talent.
The painting in the MOMA ( Museum of Modern Art ) looked like the fartist had let her dog roll in a can of house paint and then fall asleep on the canvas.

Fartist - Fake Amusement Really Trying Inside So To - NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THEY SUCK AT LIFE AN USE ART AS AN EXCUSE FOR IT

Phony artists, people who are to lazy to do anything else and use 'starving artist' as a way around it.

An insult to those truly devoted to art,
My fartist friends whine on facebook all day that no one pays them attention while at the same time they refuse to work and sponge off others.

This term is used to describe people who claim to be artists but actually use artificial intelligence to create art. It comes from a combination of words "fake" and "artist". It can be applied to both people who openly call themselves AI artists and those who hide that they use artificial intelligence.
-I really like this artist's work
-Unfortunately, she's not the one drawing it, these images are generated by AI
-Oh, so she's a fartist?

Short for "Fake Artist", essentially someone (most likely a techbro) who generates pictures using AI and tries to market them as "art".
- Did you just filter out AI generated pictures?
- Yes, I refuse to support fartists
