American Death Metal

American Death Metal aka United States Death Metal USDM is comprised of Death Metal bands there were originally formed in the United States of America many of which were influenced by Metal from other nations of the world. Death metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. It typically employs heavily distorted guitars, tremolo picking, deep growling vocals, blast beat drumming, minor keys or atonality, and complex song structures with multiple tempo changes.

American Death Metal has lots of bands that really have pushed the envelope in the Death Metal World! Hail USDM!

Synth death

A notoriously difficult section of the Guitar Hero 3 chart "Through the Fire and Flames" by power metal band DragonForce, beginning approximately 3 minutes and 50 seconds into the track and ending with an instrumental bridge. The section is characterized by fast arpeggiating notes that will usually make or break an FC (full combo) of the chart. Synth death is usually done by more skilled players through a method known as "tapping", but can be an extreme point of contention for those who are newer or less experienced at Guitar Hero.

My TTFAF FC run was going smoothly up until synth death made me lose my streak and fail.

Death by 1000 meetings

As the modern form of an ancient torture, death by 1000 meetings is defined as the annihilation of a project, action or ultimately a person due to time wasted in having to attend a seemingly infinite amount of non-productive meetings.

This is in direct correlation to the mathematical theory which states WORK = 1 / MEETINGS, as the amount of meetings increases, the amount of tangible work gets divided to oblivion.

Bob: What happened to the billion dollar R&D project that Joe was working on?
Mary: Death by 1000 meetings

Rick: Hey I thought you were working on that perpetual motion machine, why hasn't anything progressed in the last 3 years?
Jason: Death by 1000 meetings

Mark: Did you hear about the case of fiscal insolvency of a city over in California?
Ann: Sure did, yet another case of death by 1000 meetings!

Caravan of Death

In October 1973, Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet organized the “Caravan of Death," a military death-squad charged with eliminating perceived opponents of the military regime. Flying a cross-country circuit by helicopter, the Caravan of Death landed at military bases throughout the country and tortured and summarily executed at least 75 political prisoners.

Many of the victims of what became known as the "Caravan of Death" had voluntarily turned themselves into the military authorities. Prisoners were taken from their cells and summarily executed, often without the knowledge or consent of the local military authorities.

Death flag

The point where a person's death becomes highly probable or unavoidable, due to something that he or she has just said or done. May also refer to the phrase or action itself.

Ways to make a death flag:
- achieve 999 straight victories
- teach your pupil everything you know
- propose to someone before going to war
- get seriously wounded and tell your mates you'll be "fine"
- invite a detective to your next family reunion on an island
- reassure a small child that no enemy has attacked your city in 100 years
- point out the glaring lack of giant parasitic wasp swarms in your current life

"Gee, you know, the only thing that could ruin this great wedding right now is a giant swarm of parasitic wasps."
