means to CACKLE OUT LOUD.
when you Cackle out loud it expresses pure uninhibited glee, especially used when texting, IMing or blogging.

when you read something so funny you have to cackle out loud, lol is not strong enough an expression for some things that make you cackle so loud people come from another room to see what you are laughing at .
lol is weak.
use especially if you know your laugh sounds like a cackle.

as in: Holy Crap! i had to COL(cackle out loud) on that one!
this is COL(cackle out loud) funny.

For those of us that can be honest and admit that we don't really laugh our ass off (lol, lmao, roflmao, etc.) when someone texts or types something that's not really that funny, but just chuckle out loud instead.

Chuckle: –verb (used without object) 1. to laugh softly or amusedly, usually with satisfaction 2. to laugh to oneself: to chuckle while reading. 3.–noun. a soft laugh, usually of satisfaction.

Let's be honest - when we say LOL, we rarely are actually Laughing out Loud. We do, however, let out a little *a-huh-hurm*, or chuckle, once in a while, in which case you would say col.

Alternatively, you can add extra -ol's or even an -olz to the word to better explain how much you chuckled.
