batty boy

A term that can be commonly heard being used by Chavs and Rude Boys on London's streets as a plain insult or as a derogatory term for a gay person, often directed at members of the public because they won't surrender their mobile phone.

The term is believed to have been brought by Jamaican migrants to Britain, which along with the term Chi Chi man is designed to denegrate homosexuals.

Chav or misled youngster: Gimme your phone posh boiii. Walk Awayy batty boy (t is often not pronouced, instead replaced by a glottle stop)

batty boy

A derogatory term referring to a gay or homosexual man. It translates to butt boy (a boy who likes receiving anal), as the word batty means butt. It is commonly used in Jamaica, where gays are murdered and not welcome. Also known as batty man and chi chi man.

Jamaican reggae and dancehall songs use the term throughout their lyrics. T.O.K's "Chi Chi Man" encourages burning gay people and others who gather with them, Buju Banton's "Boom Bye Bye" describes shooting a gay man in the head, and Elephant Man's "Log On" talks about violently stomping on and burning up gays.
