Not to be confused with traditional hipsters of Brooklyn, Newark hipsters, or warksters, don't have trust funds. Other key differences include a penchant for community activism and volunteer work, riding bicycles with multiple gears, and taking part in the arts in a meaningful manner.

Some similarities include dress code,a love of obscure media, and a purely ironic appreciation of things that are not traditionally thought of as "good".
