Orgin = German: Schaden, damage (from Middle High German schade, from Old High German scado) + Freude, joy (from Middle High German vreude, from Old High German frewida, from fr, happy).

The joy, existential validation, and downright delicious pleasure received by watching, reading of, hearing of, or even, occasionally, causing an enemy's downfall. And by enemies, I mean also friends.
