Mortimer

(verb) to get Mortimered is when a woman you're flirting with casually refers to her boyfriend in conversation so as to dissuade you from making further advances without seeming rude. The term derives from the fact that her boyfriend is probably stupid, and his stupid name is probably Mortimer.

guy 1: "dude did you go home with that girl from the bar last night?"
guy 2: "nah, I thought I was golden but then she Mortimered me hardcore."
guy 1: "bad times."

Mortimer Syndrome

1) A disorder that keeps a person from finishing an almost complete essay at ridiculously late/early hours in the night/morning the day an essay is due. This disorder is caused by the victim's temporary release from anxiety surrounding the fact that his or her essay is practically complete. Symptoms include uncontrollable procrastination and the sudden need to watch old commercials they used to love on youtube.

I only had one paragraph left on my essay when Mortimer Syndrome kicked in, and then I was up for another 2 hours watching Got Milk commercials.

When your boss over-schedules the work day and then sends all of your coworkers off-site leaving you alone to do everything.

Brody and Jackie got sent to the South Site, Erin and Zeph got sent to the East Site leaving me here alone to answer the phones and work all the tickets. I've been Mortimered again!
