A red herring that is so absurd as to alert the listener that the speaker is telling a lie. Oftentimes the lie is told when telling the truth would be simple but slightly uncomfortable.

Friend 1: Are we still on for coffee?
Friend 2: No, there is something I have to tell you.
Friend 1: What is it?
Friend 2: I have cancer...
Friend 1: Are you pulling a Melville?

Boyfriend: There is something I need to tell you.
Girlfiend: What?
Boyfriend: I am sexually attracted to men.
Girlfriend: Are you pulling a Melville, we can just break up you know?

A shop where girls who think are "hipster", and or, "grunge" shop at where everything is overpriced and insanely cheap/thin fabric. The only reason this shop is probably in buisness is because Kylie Jenner marketed the shit out of it on instagram, and rich white wannabes become their number one customers.

A dix hills kind of town right next door to the hills of dix. Its in the same school district as the dix hills kids being the half hollow hills district. Both the northern state and LIE run though it and melville has its own post office unlike dixhills. which pretty much makes dix hills huntington station, but dont tell anyone from dix hills that.

For example, you could say im a dix hillian but then again i dont even live in dix hills i live in Melville.
