Institute of Technology

A college of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities which is the only university branch worth attending. Contrasted with the Carlson School of Management and the College of Liberal Arts, the Institute of Technology (IT) is populated by people who don't deserve to be kicked in the balls (Carlson students do; CLA students have none to be kicked). Most IT students could kick your ass in any academic endeavor, and they'd be willing to prove it, because they're nerds.

Carlson student: "I see by your intact testicles that you attend the Institute of Technology!"
IT student: "Why thank you, Carlson student! Now stand still with your feet four feet apart."

technological retardation

Technological Retardation occurs when one becomes so intrigued by and reliant on technology such as cell phones or the internet (facebook) that the outside world becomes defunct. A person who had become technologically retarded would:
* Rather text on their phone than have a genuine conversation.
* End a relationship with a text or email instead of in person like a respectfull human being.
* Misspell common words like "your" (ur) or "what"
(wut-wat) in important situations (such as on a job application) making themselves look like a moron.
* Send you a text message while within an audible distance or line of sight

You cant even take your attention away from that cell phone long enough to comprehend what im saying, and you sent me an email to me asking if i would "give you the remote"... technological retardation

technology pessimist

One who does not/can not see all the potential positive benefits of technology. These feelings are often derived from and can be attributed to a lifelong confusion towards complex systems and products. Members of this group almost certainly majored in a liberal arts subject (as opposed to engineering).

When I pulled out my Treo 660, Jaime ran away. I tried text-messaging her, but she never replied. What a technology pessimist! If only she knew what she was missing...

1. the inclusion of technological characteristics in determining whether a person is considered likely to posses certain "predictable" qualities and/or likely to act or behave in "predictable" manners.

2. the practice of substituting gadgetry and use thereof for evidence as grounds for social status.

3. general geek/nerd stigma.

Girl: "Look at Richy Rich, iPhone and a Kindle. Don't they cost like $500?"

Other Girl: "Something like that, at least we have friends and get out." *Laugh*
