I suggested instead installing an "off at 9 P.M. and on at 5 A.M." timer for said glowing sign (and of course, I, too, would want to sleep during those periods, and people seldom came to me with any issues or rental-requests during da "wee hours", either, and so there should be little need to illuminate da door to my office during those periods, anyway), and he accepted this ah'llturnitoff solution.
