They usually do not hold a regard to what the post is, so you might see the most idiotic, white knight-ish and/or social justice warrior like post get one like.
This decreases the value of likes on a website, as you can easily get a ton of likes from a Like Inflator, or a ton more of them if there are multiple ones on the website

There are quite a few causative factors that can cause AFK inflation, e.g. having many YouTube channels uploading new videos at the same time.
After a week of being busy, I felt the effects of AFK inflation hit hard; with dozens of new uploads waiting for me, I realized I’d need to binge-watch for hours just to catch up latest YouTube videos!
