Independent

What a teenager falsely considers his/herself when parents leave town. Parties at "my" house often ensue.
Now that my parents have left for a week, I've felt so independent eating their food.

Strong independent woman

Strong independent women are less emotionally dependent, they can find happiness on their own. It could be written as siw.
For example, a girl talk to an engaged couple, and they never answer her. Then, if the girl feel upset, the girl is not a strong independent woman!

Independent City Girl

Someone (a girl) who wears out-of-control clothing that isn't even fashionable. Also, they strut like they are on a mission--however, they do not know where to go. They also think they are an asset to society, when in fact, they are regarded as ridiculous.

The term is used as a joking description of the person seeing as if they were really thrown out to be independent in a city they would be lost, laughed at, and confused.
An example of an independent city girl is a girl wearing lace up heeled boots and a lace dress with a trench coat while strutting the halls looking for fashion ideas. This girl on a mission would be described as an independent city girl.

Independence

Imagine a land with a great human rights record south of the 49th parallel. A land where full human rights are extended to all people without the federal government screwing things over. And the people of Massachusetts would be able to travel abroad, and instead of being laughed at for being "American", treated as the peoples they truly are!
