A simple rule stating that food dropped on the ground is still perfectly edible if it is picked up in five seconds. Ingeniously created by guys for the sole purpose of reducing wasted food and allowing a person that second chance they needed to enjoy their food.

Jason: I dropped my steak on the ground!
Chris: That sucks.
Jason: Nah, five second rule, I saved it.
Chris: Nice.

One Guy Rule

When a girl has a history of getting with many men. She meets a guy, falls for him insanely quickly, and now insists she is a changed woman and no longer wants to sleep around.

Wow, she has seen the same guy twice, it must be that new 'One Guy Rule' she talked about.
Looks like they've both settled down together, that 'One Guy Rule' worked.

Standard Creepiness Rule 

(Also known as the "Rule of 7")

The Standard Creepiness Rule is an equation that determines the youngest possible age of a potential date that is deemed to be socially acceptable and not creepy. It was mentioned in comic 314 of the web-comic XKCD. According to XKCD, the rule is as follows:

"Your age" (in years)÷2+7=Minimum socially acceptable age of your date

Be sure to follow PEMDAS.

Also remember that the rule is not set in stone and that it is superseded by legal restrictions and the presence of a consensual agreement.

Brad: "Hey, do you think it would be O.k. for me to go out with Rachel?"

Ryan: "Well you're 32 and she's 24, and since 32 divided by 2 plus 7 is 23, the Standard Creepiness Rule says you can date her."
