Historical Normality Bias

The fallacy of judging past societies, actions, or norms by the standards of the present, or conversely, of justifying outdated, harmful practices by arguing "that was normal at the time." In its dismissive form, it's used to invalidate modern moral critiques of historical figures by claiming a lack of historical context. More perniciously, it's used to defend the persistence of antiquated injustices by appealing to their historical commonality.
Example: Defending a founding father's slaveholding by saying, "It was normal then, you can't judge him," commits the Historical Normality Bias. It uses historical descriptivism ("it was common") to avoid moral judgment, implying that collective moral failure excuses individual participation in atrocity.

Historical Supremacy

The belief that the present era is inherently superior to all previous periods in history, regardless of evidence to the contrary. This mindset dismisses past knowledge, traditions, and ways of living as primitive or obsolete, reinforcing the assumption that modern society represents the pinnacle of human achievement.
The rise of historical supremacy in modern education leads many to dismiss indigenous knowledge systems, ignoring centuries of wisdom in favor of a narrative that privileges only the so-called advancements of the present.

The Historians Curse

After reading and imagining oneself in different era's, time's, etc the historian loses a sense of reality and literally, everything becomes relative. Human suffering isn't as bad as others across history have suffered. You borrow words, speech patterns, and mannerisms from other cultures in a different time. You find it hard to interact with people in present society as you present yourself as someone from the past you hold in esteem. You cannot escape the fruits of your own knowledge and are cursed to be a weird unknown thing. An amalgamation of unrelated things without any unifying idea to hold itself together, making it preposterous in the extreme.
Being affected by the Historians Curse the professor was seen as a lunatic as he constantly presented himself as knowing everything whilst acting like a 13th-century townsman looking for God amongst the dead.

intellectual historical innocence

This kind of innocence is when someone, generally of a younger age or uneducated, is not aware of jokes and references of historical events, and/or is surprised when they find out about it.

This can also be used to define someone that jokes about tragic historical events and/or support these "ideologies" without really knowing what they are about.
