Stereotype victims that can be categorized as a subgroup along with jocks, plastics, etc. Often seen as a genre of depressing or terrible music, and kids who feel sorry for themselves or dress in certain way; kids that develop eating disorders, cut themselves, and overdo the sensitive thing. They supposedly look down on the rest of the world and have completely irrational or absurd reasons to be this way. In truth, they might be this way, they might not. It may be for good reasons, and these definitions are only making things worse.

Not all emo people cut themselves, wear tight pants. or are all depressed. Ever heard of emo-happy?

a typical lifestye of outcast teenagers from 17+ who are usually over emotional and tend to let outside forces bother them way more than nessecery... expressive individuals who tend to wear clothing out of the norm and listen to non-mainstream music sometimes containing screamo-lyrics and heavy use of guitar....note:not all emo people cut themselves or are suicidal

Someone can be called emo if they have at least two of the following qualities: always dress partially or fully in black (because it "reflects the color of their soul"); wear very tight and restricting clothes (constantly in contact with the skin, because they are usually deprived of any physical contact with other people such as hugs); seem to talk mostly about how sad, unfair, or hopeless their life is; cut their own wrists; or attempt to express their emotions through excessive amounts of boring dark art or poetry (also includes music).

Emo kid: "Linkin Park and Three Days Grace are my favorite bands I feel like theyre the only ones who get my life"
Normal kid: "Dude, they are Emo incarnate. You need to get laid..."

i have seen that most people have a low opinion of emos
which is unfair,how many of those people know any?

i have no opinion of them,so thiswill be fairer,
most of them are kids about 14-19 who are sad,they feel life is kind of cruel (which it can be) and then find something amazing, music

they will listen to it compulsively and the songs will explain how exactly they feel.

i dont believe the music genre "emo" exists
but some types of music make links to different groups of people MCR ARE NOT EMO
THEY ARE ROCKY/PUNKY

1)Middle-class teenagers who only want attention from their parents or their peers who have enough grease in their hair to fry enough bacon for the 10 trillion people in this world. They wear a lot of black and their greasy hair is always covering their face. Most emo kids cut themselves......most of the time for attention, as previously stated....because mommy and daddy "just don't understand".

2)Emo sumed up is goth with no balls(maybe if emos didn't wear castratingly tight jeans they could grow the balls to realize they are being completely ridiculous and that nobody cares.)

3)Posers with bad taste in music.
