Someone who relieves tension or strain from a situation.

Someone who can reduce the amount of effort needed to get a job done.
It takes a rare breed of person to be an effective slacker. A slacker can be an extremely useful team member if appreciated for his easy nature.

Slacker Rock mainly appeared in the 2010' with bands like Fidlar, King Tuff, Mean Jeans & Audacity.
Slacker Punk is a close cousin, but even more nervous.
