monarchy

A "monarchy" is a form of government, of which there are 2 types.

A "constitutional monarchy" is a government in which the monarch is a figurehead. He or she performs ceremonial functions, such as state visits and ship christenings. There is a parliament and a prime minister. The parliament is responsible for making the laws and the prime minister executes the law.

In a "true monarchy," the monarch's word is law because the monarch is the state. The Monarch is the equivalent of the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court all rolled into one.

Japan, Sweden, the UK and Spain are all constitutional monarchies.

Monroe, WI

A small town known for a celebration called Cheese Days that is celebrated every other year. Its also the place where the Swiss Colony was born. Monroe has its fair share of slow driving old people and deuchebag cops. If you are looking for a smaller town to live in that still has a decent amount of stores to go to then this is it. It has a population of about 43,350 and counting. You get over charged for weed in this town so watch out. Monroe occasionally smells like cow poop for some reason. It also has a factory on one side of town that if it were to blow up would destroy half of the town. But other than that its a decent place to live.

Monroe Hall

A freshman honors dorm at the college of William&Mary, this dorm houses many of the Monroe Scholars on campus. Derided by some as a dorm full of nerds who play board games and study all day rather than party, it is in fact inhabited by some of the most interesting, cool people. Who play board games and study all day rather than party. People who live there are often affectionately called Monrovians or Monromans.

Student 1: Hey wanna go to a party at the units?
Student 2: How about we just play bananagrams and make jokes about history?
Student 1: Wow you're such a twamp, you must live in Monroe Hall.

A very memorbale actress from the 1950's, born on June 1st 1926, born Norma Jeane Mortensen. Marilyn never knew her father and her mother Gladys was sent to an asylum when Marilyn was very young, she was sent from foster home to orphanage countless times. Marilyn married 3 times in her short but sweet life, she was married to her childhood sweatheart, baseball legend Joe DiMaggio and great playwright Arthur Miller. The marriages were short lived but symbolized love for Marilyn. Marilyn died August 5th 1962 of suspected overdose, some believe it was murder. Marilyn was one of the best actresses the world has ever seen and had a sensational voice.
