A complex city, Memphis is the richest for musical heritage yet has the number one crime rate. Memphis is the only city in America where one can be in a movie without owning a SAG card. Memphis is the bluff city and it rocks the socks off any other in the mid-south. The government is run by a crook. The highlights are amazing. It is the only city that voted democratic in the past elections in the state of Tennessee. Memphis is schizophrenic with the good and the bad.

I can never make up my mind so you might as well call me Memphis!

Dank Meme

This is the real origin of the term: dank is a slang word from SF bay area that meant 'good weed, it's been around at least a decade.. eventually it just came to mean 'cool' in SF Bay Area Slang.. so seeing that tech culture emanates from the bay area people just probly started saying "dank meme" as a joke and others started using it ironically or unironically whether they knew or didnt know the origin. It's still a pretty dank word I use it all the time.

Original example as Bay Area Slang:

"Yo lets go score us some dank from that guy you just met"
"Ay this weed is dank as fuck, where you get it?"

Contemporary example to refer to memes
"NORMIES CANT INTO DANK MEMES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
"I like that meme, it's pretty dank"

Political Compass Memes

A subreddit which carries the unique distinction of probably being the only political discussion community on the internet where people belonging to all political ideologies can interact and discuss their opinions with each other without someone getting their panties in a twist. A die-hard liberal can laugh at a meme along with a Trump supporter; a communist can amicably chat with a anarchist; etc. etc. This is quite remarkable considering that 99% of political subreddits inevitably become echo chambers full of vocal extremists that shoot down anyone with even slightly differing opinions.

Probably will get banned in a year or two.

Person 1: *expresses an extreme opinion that is rewarded with thousands of upvotes and awards*
Person 2: Listen, I think that might be going a little far because.....*rational argument*
Everyone else: REEEEEEE YOU CAN'T HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION FROM US WE ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!!1! *mass downvoting Person 1 with possible death threats in inbox*
