The Toaru series is a multimedia franchise with the main series A Certain Magical Index Originating as a Light Novel Series, There are also Spin-off Mangas of various characters Known as A Certain Scientific Railgun & A Certain Scientific Accelerator these three have had anime adaptations for some of there content. There is also two other spin-offs A Certain Scientific Railgun:Astral Buddy & A Certain Scientific Dark Matter both of which have not yet had any kind of anime adaptation.
The Light Novel Series has three series, the first is currently finished and is called Old Testament, the second series is known as New Testament, is also finished. There is a current third Light Novel series called Genesis that is still ongoing
