I noticed a correctitude in the spelling of my previous example.

the art of extending your lunch hour by bringing in all of the ingredients of lunch, then spending half an hour making a sandwich. you then go out to the pub for an hour on the basis that you haven't been out to lunch yet

The essence of the verb "correlate".

Who added the second "r" to the word "corelate" to make it "correlate"?

Does anyone or anything benefit from that addition?
Was it best to do so?
I am certain the second "r" confuses and is unnecessary.

when one corrects you by saying... 'did you mean'...

I have Lord & Taylor taste with a dollar store pock-a-book.
Friend replies w/ 'did you mean', pocketbook.
Are you google correcting me?

political correctness

using euphemistic language, often extending a word or phrase by multiple syllables, in order to rid the word or phrase of its emotional connotation esp. when applied towards words or phrases that are discriminatory in nature.

"Political correctness has resulted in not referring to individuals as cripples anymore. They are now called physically challenged."
